Nap: yes, today, right now.

Dearest Little Pecky,
I am starting this blog today, because I cannot go farther than arm's reach of your Kanoe. You woke up 25 min after I put you down for your morning nap, and that is not cool. It's not your fault, either, but I am determined to have today be the first day of the rest of my career as a really good mommy. And being grumpy about your nap wasn't on my agenda. Two hours into the day, and my shiny intentions are already getting tarnished. So, I'm going to pump and type while I bounce you, (a little too vigorously, perhaps?), in your sweet little cradle. And you apparently, are going to squirm and grunt the whole time. Please close your eyes again, please, please. The cats are not helping, either. They're delighted that I'm crouched on the floor, so they're meowing loudly for attention and making me even madder.

I'm foolishly hoping to get a lot of housework done today, since your great grandfather Colin and Great Aunt Natalie are coming to visit on Saturday. And your grandfather Tom arrives tonight from Chicago. It's supposed to be beautiful today- almost 80 degrees! I'm also hoping to stuff the wilty lettuce starts into the new garden. We shall see which things get done and which fall by the wayside as the hours tick by, full of nursing, diaper changes and playing. Or maybe I'll just keep being crabby all day and the whole thing will go to shit. Who knows.
